Sept 23 Edgewater Garden Club meets at the Community Hall. Coffee and visiting 9:45 a.m., business meeting 10:15. Garden Club is collecting wire coat hangers for wreathmaking in late November. Bring anything you have please!
Sept 23-24 Skagit Valley College will offer two Warm Water Bodywork Basics class series at the S.I. Soothing Waters pool. The dates are September 23rd, 24th, 30th, and October 1st from 1:00 - 2:30 or 2:30 to 4:00. You may register for either one by calling the college at 416-7873.
Sept 26 Samish Senior Singles have an early autumn get-together on Fri., Sept. 26th. at the home of Kathleen Packard, 9920 Samish Island Rd. It’ll be a “brown bag” lunch, and any Island senior single is welcome, 766-6752.
Sept 30 Islander Bonnie McFarland is teaching “Create a Life You Love” on Tuesday, September 30, 6-8 p.m. at Skagit Valley College. This class will show you how to create more energy, enjoyment, passion, and purpose in life. Whether you want a simple life tune-up or a complete makeover, join us for a fun, engaging and insightful evening. Cost: $29. Nov 2-4 Arts Alive in La Conner.
Nov 4 On Tues., November 4th the Samish Island Yoga Class will resume a schedule of meeting weekly from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Christ. This class is modified for all levels and everyone is welcome. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for movement and bring either a yoga pad or blanket. A small lunch is available for purchase. Featuring Joan Colvin's Fabric Art Quilts. You can also order your wreath or swag from the Garden Club at this festival, for pickup in early December at the Community Hall.

Dec 3-6 Garden Club, Wreath & Swag Workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Bring greens from trimmings, windfalls, etc. Bring hand pruners and wire cutters. Everyone is invited to come and learn how, and to help make wreaths for community mailboxes and doorways. Profits go to the Samish Island Fire Department, Camp Kirby and Friendship House.

The presenters will be Fred Miller, co-author of the recently published Samish Island; A History, and Gail Hopley, member of an early pioneer family who contributed to the assembling of much family history material.
