Samish
Island Marching Band
The Samish Island Marching Band was started over 20 years
ago by Steve and Gail Hopley, for a July 4th parade around
1979-1980. There is no director, only a 'coordinator' role
which has been passed around over the years. The band calls
themselves very 'democratic' and decisions are made by group
concensus.
The
Samish Island Marching Band has three events/performances
a year: the Island July 4th Parade, the Berry Dairy Days Parade,
and the Island Christmas Program.
