About SICC
Samish Island Community Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that owns and manages the Community Center meeting hall. We foster a sense of community by hosting fun and educational activities for our members. The Community Center is available for rent. You can support SICC with your tax-deductible donations.
Residents and Samish Island property owners 18 and older are members of the Center. We hold our annual SICC member meeting between January 11 and February 15, where we elect the officers and at-large members of our Board of Directors.
The Board meets at the Community Center at 7 pm on the third Thursday of each month. All SICC members are welcome to attend Board meetings. If you have a subject you would like discussed at a meeting, contact the Board President for inclusion on the agenda.
Board officers serve one-year terms. At-large members serve three-year terms.

SICC 2027 Board Elections: Open Positions & Timeline
Following our recent SICC bylaw meeting, we want to share the details and schedule for the upcoming annual board elections.
Serving on the board is a wonderful way to contribute to our island community. Below are the open seats for 2027 (all officer positions are reelected annually).

(Note: Per the bylaws, no first-degree relatives, spouses, or domestic partners may serve as Directors at the same time.)
Key Dates:

November 1: Nominations open. If you’d like to run, please let any current board member know in writing with a quick sentence or two about which seat(s) you’re interested in and why.

December 21: We’ll share an interim list of everyone who has stepped forward so far.

December 31: Final deadline to submit nominations.

January 10: Final list of candidates shared with the community.

Sunday, January 31, 2027: Annual Meeting and vote.
Voting at the Annual Meeting:
Members will elect the board from the full list of all candidates position by position. To ensure a fair process, if more than one person runs for a specific position, members will vote for that role by secret paper ballot. Per the approved bylaws, nominations from the floor during the Annual Meeting will only be accepted for positions that received zero nominees by the December 31 deadline, or in the event that a nominee from the December 31 list has to withdraw.
