- This group is meant to be positive and neighborly, and not a place to air grievances. Recognize or thank people for their good deeds or actions, ask for recommendations or names of contractors or services, share a bit of humor, offer things for sale or giveaway, report a local wildlife issue or road problem, ask for help finding lost items or pets, report something found, or ask for help in general.
- Point out issues of interest to the community, but please link to a website that describes the issue rather than promoting your personal views on the subject. Avoid discussing and sharing opinions about politics and religion.
- You may promote your island-based business or service, but limit your promotional emails to twice per year and keep them concise. Let people know who you are and what you do, and let them contact you if they’re interested. Alternative promotional avenues include advertising space on the Samish ShoreLines and in the Samish Island Facebook group (not an SICC-managed forum).

Please note that Google requires group members to have a Google account under the email address that you are using to join the group. You can create a Google account using any email address; a Gmail address is not required. If you request to be added to the group with an address not connected to a Google account, we will send you an invitation, and you will need to create an account then. If you request to be added with an address that does have a Google account, you will be added directly to the group. Either way, upon activation by the moderator, you will receive an email from Google Groups.
