The SICC Board encourages the use of the Community Center for activities which promote its mission. The Community Center may be used at no charge for one day by any Island resident who would like to hold a free event there that is available to all Samish Island residents and meets any of the following criteria: • Educates residents • Improves the Island neighborhood • Promotes the general welfare of residents • Fosters a sense of community • Highlights Island history • Maintains and nurtures the Island's natural environment. No commercial activity of any kind is allowed at such events. After submission of this form, your request for free use of the hall will be reviewed by the SICC board for approval. Your request should include a brief description of the event and explain how it meets one or more of the criteria. The board will make every effort to respond to proposals at the next regularly scheduled board meeting, generally the third Thursday of each month. Upon approval, you may reserve the hall and complete the rental agreement, including paying the required deposit(s). Event advertising is the responsibility of the renter.
