Samish Island History Committee
The purpose of the Samish Island History Committee is to gather, preserve, and share the history of those who have called this special place home.
“First Nations people believe that at the time of our origin, animal forms had the ability to transform into human beings. The Blue Heron represents the ancient times. As it boldly takes flight, it transforms into its human form and claims our proper place in today’s world while always respecting our history and honoring our ancestors.”
